CCOO and UGT together with the business organization Confebusthe majority in this area, signed last Friday, October 10, the request for the application of coefficients reducing the age of retirement for drivers in the transport sector of road travelers.
The application will be submitted to the General Directorate of Social Security Regulation as established by Royal Decree 402/2025, but its processing will not begin until the Evaluation Commissionwhose deadline has already been missed.
With the entry into force of the joint ministerial order creating the commission, the decree will begin to take effect, which will come into force twenty days after its publication in the Official State Gazette (BOE).

CCOO reminds that the determination of the coefficients is, except with regard to the signing of the application, “an administrative process and not a negotiating process”so the amount of the coefficient and the additional contribution would be set by the Government in a Royal Decree if it estimates the request based on the data on temporary disability, mortality and morbidity.
The state Highway and Logistics sector of FSC-CCOO demands that the Government “comply with its own laws” and proceed to create in the coming days the Evaluation Commission necessary to begin processing the request, and they warn that otherwise, they will propose mobilizations, since they will not consent to “a discrimination of treatment with respect to other professions”.
