Asjubi40 Case: Brussels begins an investigation into pension cuts in long careers

Asjubi40’s reasons for demonstrating
As detailed by the Asjubi40 spokesperson, these are their main reasons to participate in the demonstration on October 25:
– Demand the elimination of reducing coefficients to long contribution careers, specifically for those who have contributed for 40 years or more. “Now we feel more encouraged, because the European Parliament Petitions Committee has decided to keep open our claim against the Spanish State, and will ask the Government for explanations,” Menchero details.
– Request a audit of Social Security accounts, an issue that was approved to be carried out by the Toledo Pact, and “appears in the Pension Reform Law of 2021, but that is not being carried out in accordance with the law,” emphasizes the Asjubi spokesperson40.
– Guarantee pensions in the Constitution and that they are not the subject of dispute between parties, seeking to ensure that they are definitively guaranteed.
– Final revaluation with the CPI, without needing to complain about the issue every year, since “it is still not clear.”
– Demand decent pensions, including that women widows collect 100% of the pension, instead of the 60% they charge when the spouse dies.
