A new public health program, Senior healthwill focus on the health of Madrid’s over 70 years, focusing on foster active agingfavor health maintenance, improve self -care levels and enhance the recovery of functional capacity.
It is an initiative that was announced last Thursday by the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, during the debate of the state of the region.
Specifically, this new public health program seeks “add life to the years“, and includes different performances for customize the care of these people and facilitate accessibility to Primary Care Services Through face -to -face assistance, assistance at home OA by telephone and telematics.

Five lines of action
This initiative will have Five lines of actionsome of which are already underway, while others will be new implementation:
- User Service Unit: It will offer friendly and more accessible spaces in health centers, so that the elderly feel safer and more accompanied.
- Personalized, Integral and Coordinated Attention: It will allow guaranteeing medical and care monitoring, with a team of professionals that will take care of their health both in the center where they live and at home.
- Senior Telesalud: It is a tool that will put new technologies at the service of the elderly, thus facilitating accessibility and care continuity. To do this, it will have the help and training of primary care professionals.
- Senior patient experience: In this case, older people will be able to participate in quality surveys with which they can give their opinion on the treatment they receive in public health, and thus improve the service.
- Senior health assets: This last line will incorporate behavioral patterns that foster physical activity for active and healthy aging.
